Internet poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its television scores. Over the years several types on the earliest poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the bank instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up just before the dealer declares "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the house and of course all of the other players are given five cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the dealer's first card, you must in turn make a call bet or bow out. The call wager's value is akin to your original wager, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Abandoning means that your ante goes instantly to the casino. After the wager is the face off. If the house doesn't have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, with a figure on par with the ante. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the bank's hand. The bank pays out money equal to your original bet and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
