Poker has become world celebrated recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years several types on the earliest poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling vingt-et-un than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino rather than each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little concealment or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the dealer declares "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course all of the other gamblers are given 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the casino's 1st card, you must either make a call wager or surrender. The call wager's amount is equal to your beginning bet, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your wager goes instantaneously to the casino. After the wager is the face off. If the casino doesn't have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, with a sum on par with the initial bet. If the house does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the dealer's hand. The dealer pony's up cash even with your wager and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
