Web poker has become world famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years several variants on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the casino rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little conniving or different kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the dealer saying "No further bets." At that instance, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different players acquire 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the bank's first card, you have to either make a call wager or accede. The call bet's amount is equal to your original bet, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Abandoning means that your wager goes immediately to the bank. After the wager is the face off. If the dealer doesn't have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, with an amount on par with the original wager. If the casino does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the bank's hand. The casino pays out cash equal to your wager and controlled odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
