Online poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many variations on the earliest poker game have been developed, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to vingt-et-un than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers bet against the casino rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no conniving or other kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the dealer announcing "No more bets." At that point, both you and the casino and of course all of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer's initial card, you have to in turn make a call wager or give up. The call wager's amount is equal to your beginning ante, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Giving Up means that your wager goes directly to the casino. After the bet comes the conclusion. If the dealer doesn't have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus a sum equal to the initial bet. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the casino's hand. The dealer pays chips equal to your wager and set odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
