Internet poker has become globally famous recently, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years many variants on the first poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to twenty-one than long-standing poker, in that the players bet against the bank rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little bluffing or other types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the dealer announcing "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other players receive five cards each. After you have seen your hand and the dealer's 1st card, you have to either make a call wager or accede. The call bet's value is akin to your original bet, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Giving Up means that your bet goes directly to the house. After the wager is the face off. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, including a figure equal to the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the bank's hand. The casino pony's up chips even with your bet and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
