Poker has become world celebrated as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years many variations on the earliest poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to blackjack than long-standing poker, in that the players bet against the bank instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or other types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the croupier declares "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the house and of course all of the different players acquire five cards. After you have looked at your hand and the bank's first card, you need to either make a call wager or bow out. The call wager's value is equal to your beginning wager, which means that the risks will have doubled. Bowing out means that your bet goes instantaneously to the casino. After the wager is the face off. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, plus an amount on par with the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the casino's hand. The dealer pays out chips equal to your initial bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
